V8 DIRT MODIFIEDS

While the V8 Dirt Modifieds 5 Star Dirt Series is always a hotly-contested affair amongst drivers, with the action-packed 2019-20 season calendar now being announced, a shot in the arm for this season’s series will see competitors battle it out for the biggest prize yet: an all-expenses paid trip to 2020 Super Dirt Week in America.

Following last season’s development which resulted in additional rounds being added to the series calendar, the seventh running of the series will once again take place over seven rounds, with Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales each hosting a pair of rounds, while Western Australia’s round will be run in conjunction with their state title.

The hugely successful addition of the wildcard will also continue this season, allowing drivers to nominate a round outside of their home state in which they will score double points.

With each round either incorporating a title or being a standalone blue-ribbon event, the number of participating drivers continues to increase, with a record 66 drivers taking part in one or more rounds last season. With the unparalleled prize now on offer, Dirt Modifieds Australia President Darren Tindal is confident that trend will carry on.

“Building off the success of last season’s 5 Star Dirt Series, which saw us introduce a number of changes that were positively received, we’re extremely excited to get this season’s series underway,” commented Tindal.

“Super Dirt Week is without a doubt the biggest event for modified drivers in America and most Australian racers only get to dream about participating. It’s a massive prize to win and a great incentive for drivers to take part in as many rounds of the series as possible in order to bank valuable points.”

Taking place over five nights at Oswego Speedway and surrounding tracks in New York, Super Dirt Week has been dubbed ‘racing’s biggest party’, attracting the best racers from throughout America and also internationally. To find out more, visit www.superdirtweek.com.
