After a weekend of thunder and lightning both on and off the track last Saturday night at Bunbury Speedway, the Late Models will this Saturday night back it up with what is expected to be a huge night of action at QUIT Collie Speedway.

A total of 16 drivers will head down the highway to Collie Speedway to compete in what will be the fifth RACIN Tyres & Accessories Pro Dirt Series round, with last-start winner Michael Holmes heading the field. Holmes raced through the field to cross the line first in a strong performance at Bunbury Speedway last Saturday night and is hoping to do much the same this time around.

Local racer Paul Joss knows this track well. After a great performance saw him finish in second at the previous round, he will be confident of a good run at his home track.

Jay Cardy is sitting in a prominent position of the Pro Dirt Series point standings and with series challengers Warren and Jamie Oldfield not nominated, this is his chance to build up a gap in the season-long battle. After third place last weekend, despite some damage, Cardy will be hopeful of another podium result this time around.

Five-time Australian Champion Brad Blake was another to suffer significant damage last Saturday night on what is his home track, but he has nominated, so he will be hopeful to have fixed all the issues, while other such as Ken MacPherson and Marc Giancola are looking to run at the pointy-end of the field.

The second Collie-based driver in the field is Alec Melvin who is going to be running his younger brother’s (Morgan) car for this round and is hoping to adapt quickly to his new surrounds.

Jason Bond, who made his rookie appearance at Bunbury Speedway last Saturday night and impressed many, is another ready to back up his encouraging result.

A whole host of other cars are making their return this Saturday night including 2014 Australian Super Sedan Champion Kodee Brown, Brent Vosbergen and Mick Clune.
