Following the recent announcement of Shaun Dobson joining the Essendon Auto Group Racing team for the 2017-18 season, Stand21’s Australian distributer Tony Dunn has decided to come on board as a sponsor for Dobson throughout the upcoming season.

Established in 1970 in Dijon, France, Stand21 is a world leader in offering premium hand-crafted apparel and safety equipment, predominantly to drivers in circuit racing disciplines, including Formula 1, IndyCars, Supercars and more.

Looking to branch back into the Australian speedway market, having previously been involved with the sport at different times over the years, Dunn, who currently runs the brand’s Australian distribution out of North Epping in NSW, met Dobson at the Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in January and made the decision to back the Tasmania-based driver for the upcoming season.

“It’s fantastic to welcome a new sponsor on board in Stand21, which is a company that is renowned for being a market leader in motorsport apparel,” said Dobson.

“I have to say a huge thank you to Tony for putting his faith in me and deciding to back me for the upcoming season. I’m very grateful for the support and I’m hoping that I can deliver another strong season of results.”

After chatting with several 410 Sprintcar drivers throughout the event, which is the largest on the Sprintcar calendar, Dunn was pleased to align himself with last season’s Scott Darley Challenge winner.

“We explored several potential driver opportunities and Shaun expressed a good deal of interest, having enjoyed using some of our products, and the partnership developed from there,” commented Dunn.

“Coincidentally, Shaun also races under number 21, so it was almost like it was meant to be! We’re looking very forward to working with him throughout the coming season.”

Dobson has also welcomed Sydney-based company Motoradco, which offers Natrad radiators and auto air products and repairs, on board for the 2017-18 season, while also welcoming back returning sponsor of Albert Road Store - Hobart, as well as a new local sponsor in Powerstroke Automotive - Moonah.

The 2017-18 season debut for Dobson and the Essendon Auto Group Racing team is set to be at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway on the Saturday night of September 30 for the opening Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW round.
